Kew House Extension

Westpark Render Rev 2We have achieved planning approval for a rear extension to a detached property close to Kew Gardens. The extension comprises two interlocking volumes that visually distinguish their separate functions.

The asymmetric pitch defines the Client’s home office, programmatically detached from the main house; exposed purlins and integrated joinery create a contemplative environment with views down the garden.

Section through study

The flat roof volume houses the main family living space, stepping down from the kitchen and dining area. The external brick continues internally, forming an integrated breakfast area that will benefit from morning sun.

A pared back palette of natural materials with a focus on craftsmanship will set a harmonious backdrop for contemporary family spaces, where externally, detailed brickwork constructs a striking sculptural form
